The Woodend CFA was invited to come to Woodend Primary School on the morning of Monday December 7 to receive a very special presentation. CFA volunteers Mike Selby and Mike Dornau attended to receive a very special ‘Random Act of Kindness’ from the students of Prep and Grade 1.The event was organised by teachers Jad Geer and Janae PB, to teach the children about giving and how it can be quite rewarding. They made some Choc Cherry Peppermint Rolls for the Woodend Fire Brigade and every student also created their own card that was presented to the two Mikes.Woodend 1st Lieutenant Mike Dornau said that “it was as much a pleasure for us as it was for the kids. They made a fantastic effort with their cards, and some of the sentiments they expressed were priceless.” The students also received something in return, being given the opportunity briefly be a fire fighter and spray some water from one of the Woodend Tankers.
