Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
After the Old Lancefield Road fire was controlled, the Woodend T2 crew lof Geoff Wells, Mike Selby and Brad Newell remained on scene overnight to patrol the fire and put out any hot spots that flared up. They were joined at dawn by Captain Mike Dornau with some welcome breakfast and remained on scene until just after 9am. Police and CFA fire investigator were on scene at light to check out the scene along with Shire contractors who were needed to remove numerous dangerous trees. The road remained closed until late afternoon. A great effort by all involved to avert what could have been a major fire.
