The annual Xmas eve water battle in Woodend has been a fantastic community event for more than 20 years. The CFA arrives at a street location to be met by families with water balloons ready to attack the fire fighters, who retaliate with hoses and sprays. A fantastic time was had by all. This year attracted record numbers, which was a fantastic turn out, but this is now creating issues in regard to OH&S and public liability.
It is a much-loved tradition that we want to see continue to grow over the next 20 years, but will probably require some changes for next year. This gives us 12 months to plan for next Christmas, and we welcome any ideas from the community.
