This afternoon Woodend was called to a grass and scrub fire in the Ashbourne area. T1 was first on scene to discover a slasher had hit a rock and started a small grass fire. The contractor had pretty much extinguished the fire by the tanker’s arrival, so a great job by he and his extinguisher. He also used his tractor to drive a perimeter around the burn area to extinguish the flames. Woodend FCV, T2 and Support were also on scene.
