Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
On Saturday afternoon Woodend crews were called to a Hay Bale Fire in North Woodend. The fire was started by a mechanical issue with a ride-on mower, and quickly spread to burn around 1 acre of land and around 20 large round hay bales. Woodend T1, T2 and FCV was quickly joined by tankers from neighbouring brigades to bring it under control. The property owner also did a fantastic job with their own water unit and also a tractor to break up the bales. It took around 5 hours to contain and black out.
