Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
Woodend Captain was first on scene and residents directed him to the fire, and he subsequently directed Woodend T1 to the scene to start the fire fight. They were joined by tankers from Carlsruhe and Macedon to quickly bring the fire under control. Woodend crew remained on scene to ensure black out. Fortunately, the grass, some quite long, was still a little green and there was no wind so fire spread was minimal. But in a few week’s time that would be a different story. A timely reminder of what is to come, even in a built-up area.
