We want to hear from you! As summer approaches, it’s time to start thinking and talking about bushfires.

To help start the conversation, Woodend CFA wants to know what questions you have about fire as part of our Woodend Community Preparedness 2023 Project, which is being co-ordinated by Woodend CFA volunteers Cara Nolan and Tom Lowe.

“We want to find out what people in the Woodend community most want to know about bushfire, so that we can tailor the information we provide and make it more relevant to the likely fire scenarios in the Woodend area,” stated Tom Lowe.

So, you can help by answering a couple of simple questions:

1. What do you want to know?
2. What are your concerns and what will help you feel more prepared for bushfires?
3. How would you like to receive information around bushfire preparedness? For example, here is a list of considerations: Community information session or presentation; online resources and website; brochures and flyers; a webinar; a conversation with CFA member or expert; facilitated conversations with neighbours or other people in Woodend; or other suggestions.

“Once we feel we have a clear picture of people’s information and engagement needs we intend to package and disseminate the information in ways that are accessible and relevant to the Woodend community,” concluded Cara Nolan.

To fill in the survey, please go to: tinyurl.com/WoodendCFA or contact the Woodend Fire Brigade. You can also speak to Woodend CFA volunteers at the Woodend Farmers Market on Saturday the 4th of November.
