Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
It’s been a busy couple of days for the Woodend CFA. Today was no exception, with four call outs in just 90 minutes. One of those was to a burn off out-of-control. Fire restrictions were lifted last Monday, so people are allowed to burn … BUT doing so on a day of high winds like today is a recipe for disaster. Woodend and Newham attended this fire soon after noon which was spreading quickly. Fortunately, they managed to control it quickly and then black out for some time. Fire and strong winds don’t go well together, so just wait until conditions are safer to do so.
