Despite the milder conditions lately, it is still very dry. Today we attended a burn out of control in Newham that had the potential to spread into the nearby Cobaw. Fortunately trucks from Newham, Woodend, Carlsruhe and Lancefield quickly brought it under control. Once again, the fire had been left unattended, with no clearing around the fire and no water on standby.
It has also come to our attention that some people think they don’t need to log their burn with the CFA following the end of the Fire Danger Period. It is important to log any burn prior to burning, at any time of the year. This may avoid unnecessary calls to CFA Brigades.
