Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
Yesterday afternoon we were called to a burn off out of control on Einsporns Road. Crews from Woodend, Tylden and Trentham fought well to quickly control the fire, which burnt about 5 acres of grassland and roadside vegetation. An interesting fire fight with dry grass on the surface but quite soft ground underneath, which meant that the heavy trucks had to tread carefully. As we were mopping up that fire, Woodend T1 was called to another burn off on Harpers Road. Crews eventually returned to station around 5pm. If you are burning off make sure you register your fire before you light up and take all necessary precautions.
