Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
This morning Woodend CFA was called to yet another burnoff that had spread and started climbing into nearby trees. Whilst the owner was doing the right thing in clearing their property before the fire season, they pretty much broke all of the rules for conducting a safer burnoff. Make sure you have cleared around your fire area, keep it well away from trees and scrub, make sure you have a means to extinguish the fire and never leave the fire unattended. Also take extra special care on windy days. Fortunately Woodend T1 crew arrived in time to stop the fire spreading further and making the scene safe.
