Hello Kim
I’m writing to you in both your capacities of Lieutenant in the CFA and as Fire Management Officer MRSC.
To you and your team in attendance and to the CFA a big thank you from us, who look after the property, and Villawood who own it, for dealing with the fire on the Davies Hill farm on Sunday afternoon 3 January 2016. It can only be the result of your capable and prompt reaction and attendance at the fire that brought it under control quickly as evidenced by the relatively small area of grass that was burnt. There was no other damage from the fire. We would be interested to learn of the cause if this can be found.
A thank you also goes to the Council crew and Council Officers responsible for the outstanding job of mowing of the Avenue of Honour. This very thorough job, which they do every year, left hardly more than a cricket pitch height of grass to burn and must have contributed hugely to the containment of the fire – WELL DONE.
Can I ask that you pass on these thanks.
I’ve attached an image of the burnt area. The view is towards the property’s Avenue of Honour boundary (on the East) and junction with the Golf Course fence (on the South). To give it location, the house (part of the farm property) is at 13 Avenue of Honour, Woodend.

Kind Regards

Brian & Sandy Gedge.
