Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
Yesterday afternoon Woodend CFA was called to two separate fires, within minutes, on the slopes of Mt Macedon. An ominous location for any fire, and frightening to see that they ‘took off’ well before the Fire Danger Period has been declared (which is likely to be several weeks earlier this year). Helicopter assistance was required with fantastic support from neighbouring brigades – Newham, Macedon , Hesket-Kerrie and Mt Macedon, as well as DEPI. A great effort by all concerned to bring the fires under control quickly.
