Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
With fire restrictions coming in the Macedon Ranges in just over a week, many people are undertaking last minute burnoffs. Woodend was called to one that had gone out of control this morning. Fortunately, it was not too windy and was able to be controlled quickly. The land owner had done a good job in setting up for the fire, but unfortunately a few things didn’t go their way. Remember there are a few things that you should do to help make things safer. Make sure the area around the fire has been well cleared, don’t light the fire too close to trees, make sure you have a means of extinguishing the fire if needed and always have someone present at the fire at all times.
