At 2.36 this afternoon Woodend was called to column of smoke sighting near Straws Lane. Woodend Tanker 1 and FCV were joined by Newham Slip-on and Tan ker and Hesket-Kerrie. After a search the fire was located, and with Zero Tolerance Police were called. If you do an illegal burn during the Fire Danger Period is highly likely you will be charged and receive a summons. Ignorance is no excuse, especially where we live.
