Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
At 12.35 this afternoon, Woodend CFA was called to our third callout of the day. This time to a chimney on fire at the Vic Hotel. Woodend Pumper, FCV, Tanker and Support responded along with Macedon tanker. Crews worked quickly to extinguish the fire, which was burning strongly along the full height of the three storey chimney. They also did so with minimum disruption to business. Appliances were carefully positioned to that hoses could be relayed onto the roof to get to the chimney top. Once the fire was extinguished, we used our TIC (Thermal Imaging Camera) to check for any remaining hot spots. Good work by all volunteers in what was a tricky job. Business as usual at the Vic.
