Today we remember the 173 people who lost their lives ten years ago on the 7th of February 2009 during the Black Saturday Bushfire across Victoria.
The fires also claimed injured 5000 people, destroyed 2,029 homes, killed countless animals and burnt through more than 4,500 square kilometres of land.
The Woodend CFA had many members who helped during and in the days after Black Saturday, and some even going back to Ash Wednesday.
