During yesterday’s TFB, Woodend FCV led a strike team at the Bencloch fire. Led by Captain Mike Dornau with driver Stewart McKinnon and scribe Simon Tuohey, they were joined by tankers from Hesket-Kerrie, Gisborne, Macedon, Newham and Riddells Creek. All crews worked brilliantly in a range of roles, and enjoyed some very close observation of the fantastic work done by the helicopters. Listen for the siren that sounds from the chopper, warning crews on the ground that it is about to drop water.
