Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
At 11.20 this morning we were called to an MVA on Romsey Road. Woodend Pumper, FCV and Support responded with our volunteer crews. When we arrived we found a semi-trailer had aquaplaned in the wet conditions, gone into a paddock and jack-knifed into some trees. It took some time for the heavy tow vehicle to arrive, giving us time to cut away the trees. We also had to assist with clearing soil from the truck tyres to stop it tipping over while being extricated, which took some time. Fortunately no other vehicles were involved, and the driver was OK. We returned to the fire station at 2.40pm.
