This afternoon we were called to an illegal burn off on a small acre property. On arrival we found a small fire that was still burning and had been left unattended. We also noticed other remains of fires that had probably been lit recently on the property. What made the fire worse was that we discovered it contained the remains of toxic plastic and electrical materials. It was also adjacent to some very dry gorse and brush, that could have ignited if we had any decent wind. Residents must be aware that Fire Restrictions are still in place, and the CFA has a zero tolerance policy to call the police in such circumstances. Only small, but potentially dangerous.
