Volunteer with Woodend CFA

We’re always looking for volunteers … to help in many different ways.

The CFA is one of the largest volunteer emergency service and community safety organisations in the world.

The Woodend Fire Brigade has been providing an excellent service, protecting our community for nearly 120 years, and right now we are looking for new members, for both firefighting and non-firefighting roles.

You will receive comprehensive training, including basic fire ground practices, pump operation and fire safety awareness, with safety as our Number One priority. Other training may include: leadership training, first aid accreditation, communications, breathing apparatus, and much more.

However, there are many important roles beyond firefighting, so that people can be active in many different ways. We also need people who may prefer to be involved in areas such as driving vehicles, administration, assistance with community education programs, catering, fund raising and social activities.
