It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Woodend CFA Life Member Laurie O’Brien.
Laurie has not been well of late, but I never thought I would hear this awful news.
Laurie was such a large figure in our community, also a Life Member of Woodend Bowling Club and with the Footy Club et al.
Laurie was not only a valuable volunteer and fire fighter, he was also a keen member of the Brigade’s very successful Marching Team in his later years.
A timely reminder that we should all make the very most of every moment of every day … and life is far too short, even for an 83 year old.
