Just after 7pm last night we were called to a roof fire at a house. Woodend Pumper, FCV and T1 responded. Initial crews donned BA and entered the smoke-filled house to find the fire had started in the bathroom. A ceiling Heat Light had over-heated and exploded. Fortunately the family had been alerted and were able to safely exit the property. Crews decided that a fire extinguisher would be sufficient to stop the fire, rather than drag in a hose and spray water. We then used the extraction fan to ventilate the home. Fortunately we had an electrician as part of our crew, and he was able to make the bathroom safe. The family was able to go back into the home after about an hour.
