Displays when Total Fire Ban in force
This morning, just before 11am, we were called to smoke showing from the awning of a shop on High Street in Woodend. On arrival crews saw the smoke issuing from the corner, and quickly climbed onto the roof to find the source. It was promptly extinguished after some removal of part of the roof to reveal the source. Woodend FCV attended with the Pumper and Tankers 1 and 2, along with Gisborne for their heat-seeking device. A total of 12 CFA volunteers were involved, and were on scene for several hours. The source of the fire is still being investigated. Damage was kept to a minimum and fortunately no-one was injured.
